Digital Tools for Energy-Efficient Industrial Processes

Practical digital methods for industrial process optimization

Industrial processes are becoming increasingly complex and data-intensive while
requirements for energy efficiency, sustainability, and product quality continue to grow.
This seminar presents practical digital methods and project results for process optimization
in industrial environments.

Participants gain hands-on insights from real industrial use cases in cement milling and
abrasive manufacturing, including transferable methods for improving efficiency and
sustainability.

What is the seminar about?

The Cognergy project addresses industrial optimization challenges by combining
physics-based modelling, data-driven modelling, digital twins, reinforcement learning,
and interpretable AI.

This workshop presents key project results through two industrial use cases from
cement milling and abrasive manufacturing. It also highlights practical implementation
aspects and concludes with a discussion on future applications and transfer opportunities
to other industrial domains.

Objectives

The aim of the event is to present methods and validated application results for improving
the sustainability and energy efficiency of industrial production processes.
